The vintage Christmas party theme is so nostalgic. Here's how to create your own retro Christmas bash at home!
If you're looking for vintage Christmas party ideas, you've come to the right place! There is truly nothing more nostalgic than the holidays, and what better way to gather with friends and family than at your very own vintage Christmas party???
Yep, you know the kind I'm talking about. The old-fashioned Christmas appetizers, the tinsel tree, and the slow Christmas instrumentals that will have your guests chatting away all night. Let's not forget the retro Christmas cocktails to keep everyone sufficiently hydrated.
Today, we'll be going through the most essential elements you need to incorporate when throwing your own vintage Christmas party.
One key element to a retro Christmas is a tinsel-trimmed tree. Honestly, I'm not sure why this went out of style because tinsel is so beautiful in the light and I just think the Christmas trees of the past beat the styles we have today.
I also think it's interesting that the kind of trees that were popular in the past were more Noble Firs, a bit spacey unlike the super voluminous trees popular today. I think a little bit more space allows the tinsel to really shine and the ornaments to hang beautifully. Plus, even if you go with an artificial tree they look a bit more realistic than the giant Spruce trees.
