Revlon has been around since 1932 and they still carry many vintage Revlon lipstick shades from way back when. I tested them all.
If you've been a reader for a while, you know that one of my absolute favorite things to do is test out vintage makeup products that you can still buy today! One of my most popular posts ever is my post on popular 90s Revlon lipstick. Since you guys loved that post so much, I thought I would explore all the other retro lipstick shades from Revlon that are still sold today.
There's something about being able to experience something that people experienced in the past that makes us feel connected in some way. When I put on a lipstick shade that was popular in the past, I feel like I can imagine myself in the shoes of women from back then.
It's also a really cool look at how makeup trends have changed over the years. I did a bunch of research to see what vintage Revlon lipstick shades are still sold today, and it was harder than I thought!

In my research, I looked at vintage Revlon makeup ads as well as any information I could find online and on Revlon's website. Later in this post, I grouped shades with like colors so you can better compare the swatches!
I think it's so cool that Revlon has some lipstick shades that have been around since the '50s! Most brands will rename their older shades to make them more modern, or just do away with them altogether.
For this post, I decided to include any lipstick shades from the '50s all the way up to the early '00s. I know that many people do not consider this timeframe to be vintage, but I thought people would still be interested in seeing lipsticks that were popular in the '00s era too!
I cannot guarantee that each shade is the same exact formula as it was when it first came out, and I don't have exact release dates for every lipstick, but I think this list gives you a good idea of fun shades to try out if you're feeling nostalgic. Please don't hesitate to let me know if I've missed any shades. I'll try to keep this post updated as new information comes in!
Every lipstick here is from Revlon's Super Lustrous line. The lipsticks are all a creamy formula - nothing too matte or drying.

Where to buy:
"Love this lipstick. This is a great color for summer or winter! Not too dark, not too light. I love Revlon products. It also has a nice sheen! Love it!"
Era: '90s
Color description: An orange-ish brown with some red tones
Review: This lipstick was Kim Kardashian's favorite shade in the '90s. It's a pretty, deep neutral for those with medium skin tones.
Where to buy:
"Love everything about Revlon's Toast of NY Lipstick! I stumbled onto it 10 years ago and it's the only lipstick I've worn since."
Era: '90s
Color description: A slightly more red version of Toast of New York
Review: Wine with Everything truly gives you the wine-stained lip look without being too red.
Where to buy:
"I have worn this brand and color for several years! I buy extra in case it is discontinued!"
Era: '90s
Color description: A mauve brownish neutral color
Review: This color was and still is a cult favorite. This is one of the most wearable of this neutral bunch. Definitely a go-to shade that looks good on just about everybody.
Where to buy:
"Rum Raisin is such a flattering color. If you like neutral mauves, you will love this. And you can't beat the price."
Era: '90s
Color description: A more intense version of Rum Raisin, deep mauve brown with some shade of auburn
Review: Rum Raisin's bolder older sister. Deeper and more intense shade of the neutral brownish mauve. Great to wear on date nights or for darker skin tones that want an intense raisin color. This one is one of my person favorites!
Where to buy:
"Loved the color. Long lasting and moisturizing."
Era: '00s
Color description: A mauve brown shade with a cinnamon tint
Review: I saw this shade in an ad featuring Jessica Alba and it looked stunning on her. It swatches similarly to Rum Raisin, but (as per its name) shows a little more cinnamon in tone. Less auburn than Raisin Rage.
Where to buy:
"I get so many compliments when I wear this color. I hope that Revlon keeps this one for awhile."
Era: '80s
Color description: Tulip-like pink
Review: There is debate that this shade was worn by Audrey Hepburn in Breakfast at Tiffany's. Classic light pink color, but not so light that it would wash medium skin tones out.
Where to buy:
"This color lipstick has always been my favorite. It is difficult to find anywhere other than Amazon!"
Era: '50s
Color description: Bold hot pink, but not neon
Review: Super cute retro shade that will look great on a lot of different skin tones.
Where to buy:
"I have used this product forever. It is true to color, super moisturizing and in my opinion better than more expensive brands I have tried."
Era: '00s
Color description: Vibrant, orange-ish coral
Review: Kiss Me Coral is more orange than pink and is the perfect way to incorporate a vintage-looking coral color into your makeup collection.
Where to buy:
"Loved the creaminess of this one and the color is perfect."
Era: '00s
Color description: Magenta/hot pink purple
Review: I believe this color used to be called 'Orchids in Bloom'. It's a stunning magenta purple, perfect for a girls night out.
Where to buy:
"I’ve loved this color for more than 20 years! It goes with everything, makes teeth look whiter, looks good on my friends different skin tones too!"
Era: '90s
Color description: Dark wine purple
Review: Another popular '90s color, Black Cherry is perfect for a vampy lip for when you're feeling something dark and sultry.
Where to buy:
"I love the color and lusciousness of how my lips feel when using it."
Era: '00s
Color description: True dark purple
Review: This grape shade is less wine colored than Black Cherry. It's fun and bold if you like purple!
Where to buy:
"My favorite shade of purple. Dark and mysterious."
Era: '50s
Color description: Pinkish red with magenta tones
Review: A super cute vintage shade of red that can look dark pink on some skin tones. This is one of my personal favorites!
Where to buy:
"I chose Cherries in the Snow based on reviews just to try something different. It’s good quality for the price. I was mesmerized by the color, it is pretty and it’s an attractive bright red/pink hue."
Era: '50s
Color description: Bold coral, orange red
Review: Fire & Ice is a very popular lipstick shade from the '50s. It's a coral red, so it definitely has more orange tones than your true red. If you're looking for a vintage red shade, this one is a good bet!
Where to buy:
"Perfect color for summer."
Era: '50s
Color description: Red with slight pink tones
Review: Love That Red is more of a "true red" than Fire & Ice. It has some pink tones in it, too. If you're looking for a red that is pretty foolproof and easy to wear - this is the one!
